Growing up one of my favorite Country radio stations was AM 1400 WROZ in Evansville, Indiana.  It was just about the only radio station my Dad and I could agree on!  I always dreamed of working there someday!

That dream came true!  Not long after graduating from college, I had a friend who was working weekends there who gave me a call to let me know about an opening there.  Next thing I knew.....I was on the air working weekends and some fill-in work.

My time at WROZ was short, just a couple of months....But I will never forget the excitement of saying "Rosie Radio".  And having met Tiny Hughes, A True Evansville radio Legend.  Also Cheryl White who gave me the chance to work there!

The Air Check from WROZ is Dateline August 11th, 1985

I came across some air checks from my time at WYNG-FM in Evansville, Indiana.  I went to work for 105 WYNG after my short stint at AM 1400 WROZ.  I stayed there until february of 1986  when I moved to Madisonville, Kentucky
These two were edited down on february 14, 1992
After digging around in the boxes hid away in the garage, I came accross some filled with old cassettes and reel to reel tapes.  Old Tapes that tell the tale.....What I really sounded like in years gone by!  They are just like photographs.  No Matter how much retouching you do, in the end...You Can't Hide Ughly.  These demos are UGHLY!  But these demos are the Real Deal.

They are in reverse order from most recent to the early years.  Give them a listen...then ask along with me.....How did I ever manage to get a job in this business.

So far I have not come accross anything from 1986 to 1989.  (the WFMW years)  Hard to believe since I lived and worked in Madisonville, Kentucky for four Long years.....I'll keep looking.  Until then here I am in the main control room.  A big Thanks to my friend and former Program Director, Danny Koeber for taking a chance and hiring me!  Check out WFMW'S

I first hired on at KMZU in October of 1989.  In those days the station was at 101.1fm on the dial and known as Missouri's Farm Voice.  I pulled the afternoon drive shift from 3 to 7pm.  Later I chose to move into the midday slot.  The two Air checks were originally edited down on February 1992
